Project Update
Thermal Charging
Wizard ordered a few materials to build actuall cells, but due to limitations and regulations this process turns out more complicated then expected. Therefore the materials wont arrive in the near feature and he suggested to make thom on his own. This process is rather complicated and somewhat dangerous and won’t yield as good of material as ordered one but it will be good enough for now. For more controll over the process he will make smaller cells instead.
Internal Guidlines for Contributors
We decided to talk about writing some guidlines for existing but also for new leaders. So in the future we can decided more clearly of who is fitting to still be in a higher position and who is not. This will be one of many first steps towards becoming a real company.
Re-evaluate the underlying concepts of the CR1 and CR2
A youTuber MRTV has gotten ahold of the ArparaVR Headset. The microOLED and pancake lens setup has the same/normal FOV like Quest, which was unproven to this point. As mentioned last meeting, we can get the lens and display model as one unit. With using this new aproach to the headset there are some benefits: The whole headset will be much smaller (looking at Arapra sizes instead of Index). Downside is that this could also kill one of the main ideas of this project, repairability and user openness. Therefore very carefull planning has to be done, to still reach the user friendliness we want. Looking at the price for the lens and screen assembly would hopefully be around 70 to 100 euro. Still going with a Quest 2 price competitor can only be doable if that assembly is under that price point and will still be hard to achieve.
